Founded in 1934 by Antonia Nantel, Wilfrid Pelletier and Athanase David, the OSM shines as a leader in the musical life of Quebec and Canada. Recognized as a world-renowned orchestra, it is a leading cultural ambassador, welcoming the world's greatest conductors and soloists to the Maison symphonique. Under the new direction of Venezuelan conductor Rafael Payare, the OSM continues its rich tradition shaped by the exceptional talent of its musicians, its commitment to society, the impact of its educational and community projects, the scope of its projects, the excellence of its tours and the quality of its recordings.

The OSM is an artistic organization of international stature, dedicated to bringing the world's symphonic repertoire and world-class artists to the widest possible audience.
